How do I get rid of the old dusty leather/suede smell from the inside of a vintage leather purse?

I bought a vintage leather bag that's not lined on the interior, and the inside suede has a old, musty smell to it. I would like to recall if there are any ways to get rid of that smell, or make it less noticable. I'd regard highly your suggestions!

Abode a dryer sheet in it and close it up for a couple of days. Also takes out cigarrette smoke.

I purchased a toughened book that smelled like cigarrette smoke. Dryer sheets did the turn the trick.

There is no oil in the dryer sheets. There was nothing left behind on the pages of the book when I took the dryer sheets out. The pages were unarmed and stain free.

I notice some people telling you to Facetious ablutions it. That would water stain the leather and ruin the value, if it is truly a vintage dough.

restoring vintage leather bags?

I have proper brought a vintage joop bag and i wanted to know how to restore it. the lining internal is fine but the exterior (black leather is faded and the gold plated buckles are faded and two-bit scratches? so id be grateful for any tips you's might have?

First, is it absolutely leather or is it vinyl? Check up on that. If it's really leather, you can use a variety of products- Fiebing's Aussie Leather Conditioner would be my plan- to restore and protect the leather. (Before you use something like that on it though, clean it with saddle soap.)

As to the buckles, can't very help you. What works on brass is a paste of vinegar and cream of tartar, but that might shambles yours up since it's gold plate. Not sure.

Any suggestions where to find a vintage or vintage style leather school bag?

Gordon Brown has one that he is not using suitably! Find a solicitor-ask them. They always have them-maybe they could help. Just don't let them bill you for the indubitably!
